Transform Self-Doubt Into Trust In Your Intuition!
How could we possibly make that kind of a change? Well it’s easier that you might think! In fact I’m finding its one of those things that is so easy it seems hard….What? We just get used to trying too hard that it takes an adjustment to just let things be easier is what I really mean. The truth is there is evidence all around us that shows us we can trust our intuition all the time!. Have you ever had a feeling and you listened and then realized you avoided, let’s say, a car accident? That is just one of the stories I’ve heard when asking people about this topic. And of course its one of the more obvious and easy to notice, but what about the more subtle things, like say when you forgot to get chill powder at the grocery store but then you open the cupboard and the very first thing you see right in front of you is chili powder!! That just happened to me the other day! But I did make a commitment some time ago to start looking for evidence of intuition at work. I had some experiences when I did NOT listen to my intuition and boy was that a bad idea! Sometimes those experiences can really show us that our intuition is correct though, so I am glad it happened a lot, or at least enough to get my attention. It led me to just keep testing it. Lately there have been some real miracles that seem to pop out of nowhere. I even started to think I was “making” things happen. hahah But now I have begun to see that I was just getting a little sign or a little feeling and when I follow it things happen that make life a little easier. In fact I’ve started to think its much easier to “go with the flow” when I make listening to my intuition a priority. Slowing down sure doesn’t hurt either. Remember the story of the tortoise and the hare? When we speed through life we miss an awful lot even if it feel like we are more productive.
The bottom line is this….The real illusion is that there is NO reason to doubt yourself. It’s backward conditioning, that’s all. I know it can feel so real, believe me, I’ve been there too, but it is NOT!!! I can say this with great confidence now. I don’t always feel confident, but I know its not real when I feel self-doubt.
Please give yourself a break and start looking for evidence of the support that exists within and around you all the time, part of which is in the form of intuition…

Start the New Year By Transforming Self-Doubt!!
Hello and Welcome to our latest blog post! Although many of us do get caught in the trap of self-doubt, or we get stuck in not-so-supportive states, we also have the capacity to embrace and live in a state of freedom even while we are still learning to adapt to life without doubting ourselves. Self-Doubt is a state that can mirror addiction. However, the most important purpose of this work is to come to peace with our current level of development, not to make our states of mind “wrong.” The time has come for us to learn to accept where we are, even those things we find “unacceptable.” There are tremendous gifts in the areas we find “bad” or “negative” that we miss when we allow our consciousness to be locked into duality. These are parts of us we have decided that are “bad” and must be buried or hidden or kept from the light. When we breathe and allow what is to be, we open the door to miracles and find we can transform self-doubt. In fact, it is one of my favorite realizations that we can actually trust ourselves to the same degree that we have self-doubt! I’m finding it to be true more and more!! So click the purple button to download the 3 Tones of Empowerment and get the new year started by turning your perspective around to embrace your true nature!
Is Violence Human Nature?
No…Peace is Natural!
My mother taught French. She traveled to France many times until she became fluent in French so she could be a better teacher, and because she loved studying languages . Once she was even mistaken as a Parisian by tourists! As far as the stereotype of French snobbery, I never once experienced it, EVER! Of course my mother taught me to ask if someone spoke English and we always tried to learn new words anywhere we traveled. When I think of the violence that occurred in Paris and the way that travel to France has enriched my life and my mothers life, I cringe at the fact that another attack has occurred, and even more so at the fact that it was in Paris, a place that is a pinnacle of cultural and intellectual development. As far as the question of violence being a part of human nature, I still say “no” adamantly! Why then do we see so much violence in the world? It is my perspective that for those of us that do not have a mental or character disorder it is not natural to be violent. (In fact it isn’t natural for most people with mental or character disorders to be violent either.) What brings about rage and hatred that some are willing to act upon? Part of it comes from an unspoken or unacknowledged disparity, or the space between who we truly are and how we are “expected” to live. Fundamentalist thinking can be a strong pull away from our true nature. Clearly for some people this means learning to hate and/or kill from the get go. This space between who we truly are and how we are conditioned to live does not have to be infiltrated or taken over by society or any collective ideas or conditioning about what is true, but it often is. Charles Tart, PhD talks about this in his book titled Waking Up. He identifies a phenomenon he calls a “conscensus trance” that we “cast our psychoenergetic vote” to be a part of. This all happens unconsciously. In other words there is unconscious conditioning that we consent to in some sort of numbness, apathy, or “trance.” I see this “conscensus trance” as made possible by the 7 overarching illusions or the Life Addictions™ Course. They are illusions that can create mental distortions and resulting chemical habits that we experience as so powerful we think they are real! They may lead us to believe that the way we think is “correct.” There are more people today starting to talk about other possibilities! Although we may not be the majority, many of us are looking at what it’s like to accept differences in others. Personally I am finding that it isn’t as threatening as I might have thought. As I have examined the 7 illusions I uncovered, and allowed my energy to shift in each of them I can see that I no longer feel any sort of threat when someone has a different opinion or perspective than me. However, most people have been conditioned to believe in this artificial “pressure cooker” created by believing distorted versions of the 7 illusions are real. These people may also be so strongly conditioned to see “an enemy” that they attack even those who are not the “enemy,” or they justify that innocent people are a threat. This is an example of distorted versions of the illusion of separation, the illusion of control and the illusion of truth. The time has come for us to see through our own beliefs and the power they hold. This energy is available for us to use in new and different ways. It may appear as though things are getting worse in the world when in fact we may be entering a new state we could call the beginnings of “Spiritual Sobriety”. I know it may sound too hard, but this can even include sending love and compassion to those who perpetrated the attacks in Paris, as well as any and all “terrorist” attacks. Of course we allow those who have been harmed and those who have lost loved ones their grief, shock, anger and rage at these occurrences. We hold them in love and compassion no matter where we are on the planet, or how we may feel about the attacks. Compassion has no limits. It can be sent remotely (and outrage can fuel compassion.) It is when we are not directly involved in these crises that we may be in a position to really help. We are in a position to send our compassion to all involved even those who “perpetrated” these atrocities. Anyone reading this who is unable to do this, that’s OK too. We must “start where we are” and cultivate compassion for ourselves first. We may feel saddened hurt, shocked, angry, or enraged ourselves. The key is to honor whatever it is we feel. We may feel our own losses or traumas re-triggered. If we see terrorism as an opportunity to deepen our own healing from our own losses and tragedies, we are doing the world a big favor whether or not we realize it. We can do some of the most good by simply accepting our feelings. In some cases this will mean radical Acceptance which can lead to radical forgiveness. This means we accept and forgive that which is unacceptable or unforgivable. This does not mean we think or believe it is OK to act in violent ways, but we own our outrage. We infiltrate the space between who we truly are and how we think we are supposed to live, by inserting something even more outrageous like radical, revolutionary compassion. This bridges the gap and fuses us with our true nature. We do this because we may be more able to do so when we are not directly hurt. Or, we can tap into the times when we were directly hurt, and in our knowingness and empathy, send compassion to those who are hurt. Even if we have no reference point for violence we can still send compassion even to those who have acted in violence. Because we can see, at least to some extent, how horrible that must feel to be willing to end someone’s life based on a belief that such action is justified. And even more important, we can see that the word belief means “absence of thought!” This means that the beliefs that led to the attacks are not “real.” Can you imagine how that must feel deep inside to know that you have perpetrated an act that ended people’s lives? I feel bad because I got mad at my dog, an innocent bystander in my life! Besides the promise of paradise, it is no wonder that suicide is part of the attacks because it decreases the possibility that awareness might enter at some later time which can fuel transformation of the beliefs that led to the attacks in the first place! People can, and do, even transform in prison! Epigenetics is showing us that the environment around us created by beliefs can either activate or deactivate the cell membrane in our DNA. A “terrorist” that lives to transform their beliefs is an asset to the collective because it increases the chances of others waking up from this type of belief system. However, there are also many young people in these cultures we tend to demonize who are also waking up from the get go and they are speaking up about not wanting to be engaging in violence. They are also not renouncing their religions, but they are renouncing the need for violence in order to stay true to their beliefs. This isn’t in the news enough….yet! But look for it on You tube or Social Media! It’s there. There are sane people everywhere in every culture! The time has come for us to connect and unite!! Please see our FB page and comment or post! Peace is Natural! These days it requires us to be radical revolutionaries to stand in peace because it is our true nature. There are enough of us with pacifist tendencies to counter, or transmute these unnatural acts of violence because that is the nature of consciousness. Once consciousness rises to encompass All That Is there is no stopping the this force. It has a physics of its own that is far more powerful than we realize!

What Are You Under the Influence Of?
We CAN Transform Self-Doubt or Any Negative Emotion!
First lets begin by “reclassifying” negative emotions. We were never meant to hold onto emotions. Have you ever heard the saying E-motions are Energy-In-Motion? This means emotions will move through us if we allow them. This requires us to develop new habits of letting go. And for some crazy reason we do tend to hang on to the more negative emotions which makes them seem even worse! Self-Doubt is one of the more disempowering or toxic states of mind. Some people are the type that want others to doubt themselves so they can feel better about themselves, manipulate others, take advantage of others or just to be dominant. We do need to take good care of ourselves by setting clear boundaries and making sure we have little to no contact with such people but sometimes that’s impossible, or we make mistakes, or life brings us yet another person who shows us where we are vulnerable. This is all OK. I know it hurts and can be very challenging. But we can recover and we can transform self-doubt as well as any other negative emotion. We can start by looking at some basics.
Most of us live in states of mind that are less than empowering. One of the primary reasons for this is conditioning. For instance, some people think there is a “God” that will punish them if they step into a new place of trusting themselves because then they won’t be accepting “God’s Authority.” Personally, I don’t believe god is “out there” separate from us. I believe we are part of an Infinite Universe that supports us. “It’s an Inside Job” is a saying originated in Alcoholics Anonymous, but has now been widely used throughout many teachings. Bruce Lipton , the famous cell biologist says says “the function of the mind is to create coherence between beliefs and reality.” What this means is that are all capable of experiencing reality differently by changing our minds! We can also trick ourselves into seeing a world that is out to get us, or one that is in support of us, and anything in between (there are many other options too). I once attended a lecture by Donald Epstein the creator of Network Chiropractic. He said “You’re going to have a story, so you might as well make it a good one.” At the time I thought this sounded like a good idea, but now I wonder what life can be like without a story at all! Now that takes some practice!
I am offering 3 Tones of Empowerment as a free report to download by clicking on the button above. When we use these 3 Tones–Balance, Authenticity and Resilience–they can help us heal. When we really take them to heart and integrate them into our lives they are powerful alone. But, when we combine them with The Life Addictions™ Course we see we have even more opportunity to unleash energy we have kept trapped in secret hiding places, hidden from even ourselves. Please remember the word “addiction” is not meant to imply that you are doing anything “wrong.” This program is about being kind to yourself not judging or berating yourself for things you think you’ve done wrong. We do, however, have chemical habits that aren’t supportive. And, We are All Waking UP! And, as you will see if you follow these posts, addiction was a blessing for me, not a “disease,” but instead dis-ease I have transformed. We all have chemical habits we produce through ingesting a substance, other behaviors we engage in consistently, or how we think! We can change the chemical habits in our systems by changing our minds. Seeing my substance abuse, and changing those habits made my quality of life improve dramatically! Seeing these more subtle ways in which we misuse the mind that trap energy by setting up chemical habits can be easier than getting sober from drugs and alcohol, or it might be harder to keep it up because its more subtle. The living beyond Life Addictions™ Course is something I want to offer anyone who truly wants to learn. In addition, The Life Addictions™ Course offers a way to enhance our lives by freeing energy trapped in illusion. They each overlap and they are the overarching, or predominant illusions we engage in. Acknowledging this can free us from falsehoods. So here they are in list form:
- The Illusion of Control
- The Illusion of Permanence
- The Illusion of Separation
- The Illusion of Time
- The Illusion of Truth
- The Illusion of Responsibility
- The Illusion of Subservience

My Experience with Self-Doubt:
How I Transformed Self-Doubt and Channeled the Very Same Energy Into Confident Self-Trust.
As I started to write this blog post I realized I was writing it because there was a little more to add to my last post. I was feeling some doubt! I was second-guessing myself thinking, “Who am I to talk about the field of addictions and how it seems to be changing?” I am not a researcher! Then I remembered that I have been studying and treating addictions for 30 years! I also realized the reason why I was feeling a little angst is because I do have something unique to say, and something that adds value. I remembered that when I was in college after I got sober and I knew Dr. Madsen, the professor I mentioned in my last post, he was in a bit of an academic battle with philosophy professor regarding addiction not being “a disease.” The argument was that because people “chose” to drink or do drugs, it could not be a disease. Personally I don’t care if we call it a disease, but as with many other things we do to ourselves, dis-ease is an appropriate and useful perspective. I was also feeling a little triggered by the new look at addictions saying it is caused by childhood trauma. We were taught both in AA & in training to be a counselor this wasn’t the case. Again I don’t care what causes addiction. I am far more interested in how to free people from anything we do to ourselves that is disempowering. For me substance abuse was and is a “spiritual” problem, or one that lies in consciousness. I think more like Dr. David Hawkins. He says, “Man is stuck with is lack of knowledge about himself until he can learn to look beyond apparent causes. From the human record, we may note that answers never arise by identifying “causes” in the world. Instead, its necessary to identify the conditions that underlie ostensible causes; and these conditions exist only within man’s consciousness itself. No definitive answer to any problem can be found by isolating sequences of events and projecting on them a mental notion of “causality.” There are no causes within the observable world…the observable world is a world of effects.” Perhaps we could say this is what this new look at addictions is saying but then we should be talking about the combination of nature and nurture as Dr. Madsen was teaching his students when I met him back in the mid 80’s. And, I am always left with thinking about those who have suffered childhood abuse or neglect but have NOT become addicted to drugs or alcohol.
Since I successfully freed myself from drugs and alcohol and even later successfully quit cigarettes I have an insiders perspective on addictions. With the emergence of the field of epigenetics (how we can turn genes on and off at the cell membrane) I am far more interested in looking at how we are shaping our bodies, what we are doing with our minds, and how we are creating systems to live by that are not in alignment with how the energy of life naturally unfolds. This is where my perspective enters the picture. There is so much that is unnatural in the world, in our lives and in our systems that it is no wonder we feel self-doubt and second-guess ourselves. We live in an environment that is steeped in falsehoods, artificial structures and as a result we are constantly encouraged to “leave ourselves.” In fact I could even say that we are living in a society that traumatizes us, because we end up feeling we have to follow along and live in ways that are out of synch with our “natural selves.” Maybe I’m idealistic, but I do not think we need to go along with the crowd or live in ways that make us feel bad. Trying to juggle our own natural or innate tendencies with the demands we perceive to be coming from “life” can create conflict where we end up unconsciously believing we have to give in to social pressure instead of listening to our own inner guidance. Self-doubt may be a natural side effect of modern life! There are certainly other problems that result from our modern lifestyles but self-doubt or second-guessing yourself is the first problem we will address using The Life Addictions™ Course. Please keep in mind there is no reason to feel bad because of the word “addiction.” I’m not calling anyone an addict or suggesting you believe something, or anything. This program is a look at how we misuse the mind, adopt false beliefs, how powerful they can be, and most important how to free yourself from false structures that are created when the mind is out of balance.
So I will quote what many teachers with integrity say,
Don’t Listen to Me, or just believe what I am saying, CHECK FOR YOURSELF! You know best what is true for you, what works for you. How to get in touch with that and live by it is why we are here! That is what this new course is about! If this speaks to you, please click the button below to subscribe to our list & sign up for our free report!
